I’m sure most of you have heard of MCT oil by now. I kept hearing about it and I have to admit it became a little intriguing so I wanted to uncover the truth behind this trend.

Are All MCT Oils The Same?

Absolutely not!

There are a few types of MCTs. You have C6, C8, C10 and C12 (WHAT!?)

I think I need to break for a shot of MCT oil right now to get through the rest of this… my brain hurts.

C8 (shorter chains) is what you want to look for when choosing your MCT oil. Most MCT oils on the market are made up of mostly C12 (longer chains) or a blend of all 4. C12 is processed like a fatty acid so it will not immediately turn into ketones.
