This is the year for wellness and it’s time to take control of our health once and for all! 2020 will be our year for optimal health! I know we say that every year but this year will be different.

There are so many reasons why wellness is going to be on our minds more than ever before. Not only because of the amazing new products that will be launched that will encourage us to optimize our health but I think our society realizing how important it is for us to make our health a priority.

Our “New Years Resolution” will be set in stone and we will be more focused and motivated.

Disclosure, the title is a little misleading…

If you think this article is about me giving you 5 things you need to do, it’s not.

We all have different standards of what is important and what we need to make sure gets done each day.

I know I don’t know your life but I can still help you!

If there is one thing I like to tell people is everyone is different. Every household is different. Every single day of your life is going to be different.

So instead, I’m going to help you come up with YOUR personal five!

What is your why?

But first, we need to establish our “Why”. This is so important. There is something phycological that happens when we know Why. It is the driving force behind not only everything we do but also how we emotionally react and respond to everything that happens to us. We are more willing to accept situations and challenges that come our way if we understand what the reason is behind it.

When it comes to health, we can easily get overwhelmed if we don’t know what we need or want to do something. With so many ideas, suggestions, offers, classes, products, and equipment on the market knowing your Why will allow you to stay focused on what your goals are.

Let’s get started making your list!

Why do I need a list?

While I know we all go to sleep every night with the best intentions of waking up the next morning and going to the gym, drinking 3 glasses of water and reading your favorite inspirational book, it’s not always reality.

Life happens and things we intend to do goes right out of the front door.

The truth is, there are things that are fine to push to the side but there are things we must do for our health, sanity and personal reasons.

By creating this list, we can make sure we are initially doing them every single day.

What should go on my list?

Grab a pen and paper… Take a few minutes to brainstorm things you want to accomplish each day. It doesn’t matter how big or small.

Now, let’s narrow them down to the top five.

These 5 things are things that we MUST do.

We need to make sure they are super important to us but also easily obtained.

Example:

This is mine…

  1. Eat a healthy breakfast
  2. Drink 8 glasses of water
  3. Take my vitamins
  4. Spend time meditating or praying
  5. Be in bed by 10 pm.

Everything on my list is something I can do every day. I didn’t add things like go to the gym or refrain from eating sweets. While these are my personal goals, it’s not realistic for me to personally do them every day…

However, you do want to challenge yourself.

Here are a few things that might help you come up with your list:

Take a few minutes right now and think about your average day…

From the time you wake up in the morning to the time you go to sleep.

What would you like to Optimize when it comes to your health?

I wouldn’t put things on the list that you have no choice but to do like brushing your teeth, going #2 or taking a shower.

While you’re thinking, here are a few examples that might help you with your list…

Now what?

Now that you have your list, use it. Post it somewhere you can see it first thing in the morning. Make multiple copies if you have to and put them in a few different places.

Like everything else, the more you do it the more it will become a habit. Take control over your day… and Optimize your life.

I am thankful that we are finally realizing how important health is especially the connection between what we put in and on our bodies with how our brains can develop and function! Having awareness is definitely the first step and I love how you give a very easy way to put this into practice. Thank you!
