What is the coronavirus?

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in many different species of animals such as bats and can spread to humans.

This outbreak first started in Wuhan, China. As of January 27, the coronavirus has killed 106 people and has infected 4700 people worldwide including the United States.

The coronavirus raging across mainland China is a “potentially very serious public health threat,”

U.S. Health Secretary Alex Azar

One of the reasons why this is spreading so rapidly is because it can appear up to 14 days after being exposed so you can have it and not know for weeks. In the meantime, you are in contact with hundreds of people and because this is something that is spread from person to person, you could potentially infect so many people and not even realize it.

Once you start showing symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath, you must seek medical attention immediately. The severity of this illness has been seen anywhere form little symptoms to people dying from the coronavirus.

  1. Scary stuff! Hoping it doesn’t spread much more and we get a handle. I love your natural suggestions for preventing illness! We eat a lot of kiwis (and plant based in general) which have one of the highest vitamin c levels and really help to ward off illness!
